Our sessions

Wild Things are passionate about giving children opportunities to get closer to nature, learn new skills, and develop their understanding of the world around us.

We offer continuous sessions to enable children to develop a relationship with the woodland. We recommend at least 6 sessions so that the child can get used to the forest, has time to gain confidence and explore, continuing from their previous session.

As as Forest School leader I will plan each session based on the previous one, taking in to account the individual children's interests and abilities.

As an introduction to our provision, we are also offering pay as you go sessions.

We have a limited amount of spaces, this is to ensure children's safety and so that quality teaching can be given. All sessions must be booked in advance.

Little Robins

Parent/carer and child sessions

These 2 hours sessions are a great opportunity to spend time with your child in nature as well as a social experience with others. Our sessions are relaxed and child led, meaning that there will be activities available but the child can spend time exploring what interests them.

We will begin and end each session around the fire circle, building a gentle routine, and giving the children time to learn rules about safety, and welcome each other, and finally end with a reflection of our morning in Robin woods.

At wild things we believe in making our groups feel like a community. We invite you to make yourself comfortable, enjoy food together (when we feel that the children are ready and understand the rules we will introduce camp fires for cooking snacks on and making hot chocolate!)

We will be offering craft activities each week, such as mud painting, hapazomes (leaf printing), weaving and seasonal activities. We offer use of tools such as palm drills, peelers, mallets and saws, these are on a 1:1 child adult ratio to ensure safe use.

At Wild Things we love nature and we will provide opportunities to understand and appreciate whats around us, with identifying trees and bugs, looking at the changes through the seasons and learning how to be kind to our world.  Also avaiable each week will be den building, games, gardening and mud kitchen, tree swings, bug hunting kits, and lots of space to run. Oh and we do love a good sing song!
